Montaña Amarilla is a peaceful dive in the south of Tenerife, on the territorial boundary between the municipalities of Arona and San Miguel de Abona and a few kilometers from the airport and major tourist centers.
It is a bathing area with entrance stairs and that normally does not usually have currents. Of course, it is recommended to dive at high tide because the exit can be more complicated if it coincides with low tide.
Under the water it is a lunar landscape, full of cutting, huge rocks and hollows and small caverns where we can find diverse marine life, especially trumpet fish and occasionally a pooch / parsnip (Dasyatis pastinaca).
As for the depth, it varies from the approximate 6 meters from the entrance to the 24/26 meters of the arches near the exit to the open sea, which makes it an immersion for all audiences.
If to all of the above, we add that it has a beach bar where you can have a drink just after leaving the dive, it makes it one of my favorite dives.
